So! A brand new DP Quiz started last Thursday in the attractive fishing community town of Musselburgh.
The debut was great but the jackpot wasn’t won so we have a rollover: get yourself down to the Ship Inn at half past 7 for a crack at the cash. The quiz host is Kerry and she’ll be delighted to see you.
Here is the music cheat answers for tonight:
At the Argyle the music round includes a Commodores number from the 1980s, which is after Lionel Richie had left:
I’m sure that when he heard the song, Lionel would have thought: “Goddam rats cocks, shit a brick mofo! That song is good.”
But any regret at leaving the group would have waned as he quickly remembered that he’d already had massive solo hits with ‘Hello‘, ‘Endless Love’, ‘Stuck On You’, ‘All Night Long (All Night)’ and all those other good grooves.
In fact, although “Nightshift” reached #3 in the US and UK charts, the song proved to be the last big hit for the Commodores.
There were no more.
The five members of the band now work various jobs including looking after the crazy golf at Pasadena and looking after a car park in Tuscaloosa.
All while Lionel Richie (who went on to have literally MILLIONS of hits) now lives in the Elysee Palace in Paris and has fresh fruit and cream served to him whenever he likes by a fleet of naked concubines, all from different and wildly exotic countries.
When the singer goes solo, it doesn’t always work but it’s fair to say old Lionel is the winner here.
Anyway, enjoy the quizzes tonight. Go and support Kerry in Musselburgh. Check it out!
