A Tale of Two Dance Offs

Dance off 1: Winning by Innovation.

We had a 3-way dance off at The Reverie last Monday involving Brian, David and Neil. Three ways are difficult for the crowd to judge because there are so many places to look so I tried a new angle which was a static dance off. i.e: keep your feet in one spot and only use your upper body.

At the dropping of the tune, David and Brian went upper-body spasmodic and Brian even attempted to semi-strip. But Neil used his army training to take the initiative and nip outside with a bar stool whereupon he kept his feet in one place and caught the attention of the Reverie through the steamy Monday Night glass. Dance Off 2: Winning by Skillz

Three days later, Mike and Kerry were in a dance off at the Newsroom where the jackpot was £100 (now £110 for this Thursday).

Kerry is a fine-looking young woman and when there is a fine-looking young woman involved in a dance off against a young guy, there’s really not a lot of money going on the chap.

In these situations, Ladbrokes generally refrain from taking bets on the lady. You know what I mean? Mike’s got no chance.

But, Mike threw the books out the window with an awesome display of crossing-the-legs, twisting and sliding and that one where you bounce down and then up pretty quickly. Yes, without reverting to comedy, Mike won the dance off…. by dancing.

Result: win!
