Jenny’s Winners

For the second week in a row, the laurels belonged to THE DUDE ABIDES and, for the second week in a row they qualified for the ultimate question

And, for the second week in a row – they got the answer wrong so we have a £60 rollover for next week.

This week’s question:

Q. In which form did King Kong first appear?

A. Film

B. Book

C. Theatre Production

D. Radio Play

Brian consulted with the team and they went for Radio Play but that’s not the right answer. Bad luck dudes!

Still haunted by King Kong, I did some further research on it. King Kong was certainly created for the screen and Edgar Wallace is in the writing/ideas mix somewhere along the line, but died before the film premiered in March 1933. So King Kong obviously first appeared as a film?
Strictly speaking, no. The stroy was turned into a novel, the publication of which actually preceded the release of the film. It came out in December 1932. So King Kong first appeared as a book. Which means that we were still wrong.

OOPS – a narrow escape for the quizmaster. Lucky they got the real wrong answer, right enough.
